The Festival of the Pollinators (formerly Festival of the Honeybee) is in its 10th year!!! We have established a tradition of hosting a live art throw-down every year. Artists will be paid $50 for two hours of their time, supplies will be provided if you need (including canvas, easel, water, a selection of acrylic paints, and we have some brushes too). The THEME is Pollinator-Related. Given that the name is changing this year, bring your best butterflies, wasps, bats, etc. We can’t wait to see it!
This year, the Live Art Throw-Down will take place at the Ypsilanti Maker’s Market – which takes over the Farmer’s Marketplace Parking lot and driveway.
The grand prize will include FOTP and FFY Swag, local gift cards and gifts. The winner will be announced at the Rumble of the Bumble in Depot Town about 8 pm. Your creations will either be yours to take home with you, or you can donate them to First Fridays to be auctioned off at a later time.
We will be doing electronic voting, so please submit your bio, a picture of you, a few pictures of your work, and any website, social media tags below. Here are the details:
When: Friday September 2 from 5 – 7 pm
